Depart Nairobi early and drive north through the central highlands toward Samburu. After lunch and check-in, begin an afternoon drive across dry-country habitats and along riverine areas where elephants and other wildlife concentrate.
6 Days Samburu, Ol Pejeta, Aberdare & Elementaita Safari
A northern Kenya circuit linking Samburu specialist wildlife, rhino conservation, mountain forest and Rift Valley birdlife.
Private Kenya journeys designed around your own people, pace and priorities.
This six-day private route is built for travellers who want more ecological variety than a standard savannah safari. Samburu introduces the dry northern landscape and specialist species, Ol Pejeta adds Big Five and rhino conservation, Aberdare changes the scenery to cool highland forest, and Lake Elementaita ends the circuit with open Rift Valley views and birdlife. Every major night is in a different habitat, yet the route remains logical for a Nairobi road safari.
Explore Samburu at sunrise and again later in the day, or take a longer game-drive circuit with a picnic. Search for elephants, big cats and northern specialist species such as reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, gerenuk and Beisa oryx while allowing time for photography along the Ewaso Nyiro ecosystem.
Leave Samburu and travel south toward the Laikipia Plateau. Enter Ol Pejeta for an afternoon conservation and wildlife drive, looking for rhino, buffalo, elephant and predators. Include the chimpanzee sanctuary where opening times and final routing allow.
Take a short morning wildlife circuit before moving into the Aberdare highlands. Spend the afternoon among forest, bamboo and high-altitude scenery, with game viewing or a lodge waterhole experience depending on the selected accommodation.
Descend into the Great Rift Valley and continue to Lake Elementaita. The afternoon is slower, with time for birding, photography and lake scenery. A Soysambu game drive can be added when included in the confirmed package.
Enjoy an early birding session or relaxed breakfast before returning to Nairobi. Drop-off is arranged at your hotel or JKIA according to your onward schedule.
